Values, Vision & Commitment

Our Values

Ratanak International (UK) began in 2009 in response to a burden for children in Cambodia who are the victims of sexual exploitation world-wide. This rapidly increased to encompass a broad spectrum of essential needs across this beautiful nation.

Ratanak International (UK) is a Christ-centred organisation committed to serving the people of Cambodia by being an agent of change in Cambodia’s social, economic, and spiritual landscape.

Our goal is simply to help the Cambodian people rebuild their country and, in so doing, show them the love of Jesus Christ in a real and tangible way. We seek out the very best agencies to work with – Christian agencies that truly love and understand the people we seek to serve.

Our Vision

We see a day when Cambodian people, once vulnerable, oppressed and exploited, living in Christian freedom with dignity and access to social services, healthcare and quality education.

We see a day when children will not be bought and sold as commodities.

We see a day when children live free from the violence and violation of predators.

We see a day when churches around the world act with relentless passion against injustice and evil.

We see a day when all forms of slavery and oppression will be ended forever in the presence of justice and dignity.

In reaching this we work to:

  • Care for exploited children;
  • Provide medical services;
  • Provide outreach programs to prisons;
  • Care for orphans;
  • Help families in crisis;
  • Provide education;
  • Improve sanitation;
  • Assist in agricultural development.

Our Commitment

Ratanak International (UK) finances and monitors carefully selected projects each year and produce a regular newsletter to keep supporters fully informed. We are run on an entirely voluntary basis and keep administrative costs to a minimum, thus maximising our resources for projects in Cambodia.
